As a redhead who loves tramping, diving, and exploring every corner of Aotearoa & beyond, sunscreen isn’t optional — it’s a daily essential. But I wanted sunscreen I could trust: gentle on sensitive skin, easy to travel with, and kinder to our planet. So, I rolled up my sleeves and I turned my kitchen into a little sunscreen lab! I kept it simple: a handful of naturally-derived ingredients, plastic-free tins. Whilst i've since moved out of the kitchen and into a factory, Smidge is still made right here in New Zealand.
