I’ve been travelling the world my whole life—tramping, surfing, and dancing my way around the globe. I’ve often lived out of a backpack, so I’ve got lightweight packing and travel essentials down to a tee. My trick is that i've gone waterless!

Waterless Cosmetics are Great Value

Most cosmetics are mostly water—it’s a cheap filler. Seriously, check the ingredients list of any bottle in your bathroom: if water is the first ingredient, that product is mostly water! Water makes products bulkier, more prone to leaks, and means you end up using more. This makes waterless products like Smidge great value.

The key to easy travel is choosing products that are lightweight, long-lasting, and better for the planet.

Unlike traditional sunscreens, Smidge doesn’t contain water, a cheap filler used in most cosmetics and sunscreen to make it spread further. Smidge doesn't contain any water so it won’t run when you sweat or swim. The best bit, no stinging eyes when you're in the surf!

Shop Travel Size & Mini Essentials

I recently shared my personal travel essentials guide in our newsletter, and whilst you need to be signed up to access the full list, what I can tell you is that our mini 30g on-the-go SPF tins and powder-based cleanser made the list. Why? Not just because I truly believe in the power of these products, but because they genuninely make travelling easier. No leaks, no spills in your luggage and they last such a long time I rarely run out. They also keep very well in hot and humic climates!

Travel Sunscreen: Pocket-sized Protection

The best investment you can make at this time of year is our 30g tin - perfect for travel, it's small enough to fit in your pocket, your ski jacket, or your carry-on. No leaks, no bulky bottles — just sun protection wherever you end up, it’s saved me from so many “oops” burns because I'm never caught out. Simply put, Smidge is the best travel sunscreen.

It's also practical to buy at this time of year since we tend to use less sunscreen in Autumn and Winter - you won't be you won’t be left with a half-used bottle sitting at the back of the cupboard past its expiry date.
