Best Travel Sunscreen For Fiji? NZ-made Smidge

I just got back from an unforgettable week in the Yasawas in Fiji. Sun, snorkelling, and adventures with my family reminded me why I started Smidge: sunscreen that actually feels good to wear, works reliably, and has minimal impact on the planet.

Highlights & Lowlights of the trip

Seeing my first manta ray while snorkelling—absolutely magical. But just as special? Watching my niece (2) and nephew (5) apply their own Smidge every single day, learning early that just a smidge is all you need.

However, the boat trip back to the mainland was rough—scary and almost everyone got seasick...which reminds me - Smidge actually started as “Seasick Sunscreen.” Why? Because the SEA is sick, and I wanted to protect it. But, people thought it cured seasickness…if only! So we rebranded to Smidge, which better reflects everything we care about.

How much Smidge did we use?

I took a 70g tin for full-body applications and a 30g tin (my go-to!) for carrying while tramping or snorkelling. I also gifted my sister’s family of four a 140g tin. By the end of our 10-day trip, even with multiple reapplications daily, we still had heaps left. Just a Smidge really does go a long way.

My sister and I also used the Daily Cleanser and Mask every day to remove sunscreen—it worked beautifully, leaving our skin soft, clean, and hydrated after long days in the sun.
